Edwin Velazquez

Edwin Omar Velazquez, a gifted musician, music producer, and engineer, was born in the enchanting landscapes of Carolinas, Puerto Rico, where he was nurtured in a home filled with the harmonies of gospel music. This early exposure to soulful melodies and rhythms instilled in him a profound love for music, setting the stage for his future endeavors in the industry.

From a young age, Edwin embraced his passion for music, becoming an integral part of his high school band. This experience propelled him into a career as an audio recording and mixing engineer, music producer, and composer. In pursuit of his dreams, Edwin relocated to New York with his mother at the age of 9, where his journey as a musician flourished within his church community. His dedication and talent led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Recording Engineering and Music Business from the esteemed Five Towns College, graduating with the highest honors.

Today, Edwin is a 3x Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum recording and mixing engineer/producer, celebrated for his work across diverse genres including Bachata, Latin Pop, R&B, Reggaeton and Hip-Hop. His extensive experience includes collaborations with both independent and established artists. He has also contributed to the educational scene, teaching in the NYC DOE Digital Arts Music Program and with the Harlem Children’s Zone before taking a leap into the full-time music industry.

Edwin’s breakthrough moment arrived when he teamed up with Prince Royce to mix the track "Te Espero" featuring María Becerra, which achieved 3x platinum status. His expertise was further showcased on Royce’s album "Alter Ego", which was also certified 3x platinum, and with his mix of the album "Llamada Perdida", earning him his second Grammy nomination. Beyond his work with Prince Royce, Edwin contributed to Maluma's album "Don Juan" and co-produced/arranged Yailin "La Mas Viral" bachata song "Mia" alongside producers Mauro and Javier Franco.
