Christian Aponte (𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝓢𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝕸𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖗)

Christian, born and raised in New York, is a Dominican-American Producer, Musician & Engineer that specializes in Tropical and Urban genres.

“For as long as I can remember, music has been my first love & passion.”

At just 5 years old, he started his journey learning how to play Tambora. He would learn how to play by ear and by copying the CD. He also started to learn how to play Bateria Electronica (Electric Drum Pad) which is used as a percussive filler in Bachata. At just 9 years old he would get the opportunity to play a few songs on tambora with local groups such as Victor Peña.

After discovering the VirtualDJ software, at age 10 he starts teaching himself how to DJ and mix songs. “I’ve always been a big fan of Alex Sensation and what he did on La Mega 97.9. He inspired me to learn the art of DJing. I was already a “Musicologo” at that age and felt that I knew what people wanted to hear. Not to mention my music collection was insane.”

By the age of 11, Christian was already DJing private house parties. “I realized that I didn’t know how to edit / remix songs. I also didn’t know where to get these kinds of edits.This started the quest of me learning how to become a remixer. I was heavily inspired on what people like Citronelle and Baron Lopez were doing on the latin remix scene. At 13 I discovered FL Studio, and once I got my hands on a copy of that the mission for learning how to remix began. It was here where I met my great friend and partner in crime DJ Redder. He taught me a lot of the fundamental stuff that I now know today about remixing and music production in general.”

Despite several failed attempts to join Latin Record Pools and Remix websites, Christian finally decided that he ultimately wanted to stray away from DJing/Remixing and focus on Music Production.

“Around this same time (2016) I started to take a few music classes in high school where I ultimately landed on guitar class. I started taking lessons and realized how easy it was for me to understand the instrument. I got inspired to get my own and thats where I began my journey as a Requinto. With no experience in the instrument, that guitar became a part of me, where I learned to become one with it. Over the years I polished and developed my own playing style. I also learned to express myself via the guitar.

After years of just playing at home Christian started to play professionally in 2020, playing his first official party the day before they shut the world down due to Covid.

Today, Christian is one of the most sought after live musicians / producers in bachata, bringing his own swag and flavor to the table. He has played and toured with many Bachata artists in the country. He has also recorded and produced music for new artists such as Anthony Lejos, Osmir Garay and IvanRequinto

Christian is now part of the new band, EUFORIA NYC.
